AM HITS THE RIGHT NOTE FOR KIDS CHARITY

Assembly Member for Pontypridd, Mick Antoniw joined other Assembly Members and National Assembly for Wales staff in donating unwanted musical instruments to the Instruments for Kids charity #instrumentsforkids

The pilot ‘Musical Instrument Amnesty’, which is backed by the Llywydd, Elin Jones and the Cabinet Secretary for Education Kirsty Williams, was organised for Assembly Members and Assembly Commission staff, with a view to rolling the initiative out across Wales.

The donated instruments, which included guitars, brass instruments, violins and a mandolin donated by Mick Antoniw will be refurbished and given to schools.

Mick Antoniw said:

“Recycling unwanted musical instruments and giving them a new lease of life in the hands of young people is a great idea.

“Music has the power to change lives and I fully support this initiative and the great work done by Instruments for Kids.

“Unused instruments are the kind of thing that many of us have in our attic, so I’m hopeful that this initiative will be rolled out across Wales, allowing more people to help Welsh children discover and enjoy playing music.”
