AM URGES HEALTH BOARD SENIOR MANAGERS TO ‘REDOUBLE THEIR EFFORTS’

Commenting on the September progress report on maternity services from Cwm Taf Health Board’s oversight panel, Mick Antoniw, Assembly Member for Pontypridd said:

“I am in regular contact with the chair and senior managers at Cwm Taf Health Board and I acknowledge the initial progress that has been made, such as the appointment of key personnel. However, as the report makes very clear, there is still a long way to go.

“I welcome the Welsh Government’s commitment to publishing regular progress updates. This is key to helping restore people’s faith in their local maternity service.  It’s equally important that maternity staff are reassured that their views and concerns are being acted upon.

“People in Taf Ely deserve services that are of the highest standard and the challenge now for the senior management team to redouble their efforts in key areas. I will continue to monitor progress.”
